Representatives from various provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China, as well as from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan regions, and overseas Chinese communities in more than 30 countries and regions, gathered at the Mausoleum of Xuanyuan the Yellow Emperor together with people from all walks of life to pay homage to the ancestor of Chinese civilization with solemn rituals. In the square, a 117-member honor guard marched in formation, led by a giant banner bearing the character "Ji" (Sacrifice). Fifty-six dragon flags fluttered in the wind, symbolizing the blood ties and shared reverence for ancestors among China's 56 ethnic groups. At 9:50 a.m., the official ceremony commenced. All stood in solemn silence as drums were beaten and bells rung. Thirty-four drumbeats conveyed the reverence of the 34 provincial-level administrative regions across the nation and all Chinese sons and daughters at home and abroad, while nine resonant bell chimes represented the highest tribute of the Chinese nation to its primordial ancestor. Subsequently, a series of rituals unfolded in sequence: the singing of Ode to the Yellow Emperor, the presentation of flower baskets, the solemn reading of the sacrificial oration, three bows to the statue of Xuanyuan the Yellow Emperor, a ceremonial dance performance to honor the ancestor, and the spectacular "Dragon Soars Over China" segment. Every segment was dignified and solemn, brimming with boundless admiration and gratitude from Chinese people worldwide for the founder of their civilization.
The Governor of Shaanxi Province delivered the sacrificial oration, detailing the remarkable achievements China has made in the new era in economic development, scientific and technological innovation, opening-up, people's livelihood security, ethnic unity and other fields. In the "Dragon Soars Over China" segment, a giant dragon soared into the sky, symbolizing the unity and solidarity of the Chinese nation.
